Interview with SBRHS Wrestler Adrian Borges

Adrian Borges
Adrian Borges

Adrian Borges is a Sophomore and one of our new wrestlers here at SBRHS. He has been doing amazing his last couple meets. He has recently qualified for states, got 4th place at sectionals, and came 5th place at the Dan Balboni Holiday Classic. Let’s hear what Adrian has to say about wrestling.

How would you say wrestling is going for you?

This is my first year doing wrestling and I think it’s going pretty well. It’s a new experience and something I’m willing to give a try.

What has been the best and worst part about wrestling?

The best part about wrestling has been meeting new people and getting to know them. The worst part is that we have to run after losing a wrestling meet.

What does wrestling mean to you or why did you join?

Wrestling is entertaining and my friend pushed me into doing it so I thought why not. I have been told I would be good at it so that’s why I do it.

Are you planning on continuing wrestling after this year, if so for how long?

Yes, I do want to continue and I’m definitely going to do it next year. I’m not sure for how long but I know I’m going to do it for a while. I’m also going to be practicing during the off season.

If you could describe your wrestling experience using one word, what would it be and why?

The word would be hungry because I’m skinny and I love food and I want to eat food. That’s also going to help you win.
