Sarah opened her eyes and was in this weird world, it looked like an old mall, long left abandoned, with broken glass, holes in the ceiling, and graffiti here and there. She walked around the abandoned mall, calling out to see if anyone else was here. She walked by a broken window display and stopped in her tracks. There was something odd about it, there was fog rising up, it didn’t make any sense.
The fog started to surrender her body, making it hard to see. Sarah’s heart started beating as she saw coming from the fog two slivers of yellow, like a quarter moon. Growling was now coming from the yellow silvers, as they started to rapidly move towards her. Sarah began to run for her life, while screaming for help. The yellow silvers somehow managed to get in front of her, as a distorted black hand, with spots of gray fur, and sharp claws grabbed her. It lifted her up, Sarah was now eye level with yellow silvers, when then she was dropped back to the floor. The fog started to disappear and suddenly Sarah was in a forest.
Sarah got up, her heart still beating, and began walking carefully through the new environment. Sarah would stop every time she heard a noise coming from the trees. Her heart was beating faster and faster from each rustle. Suddenly, something dropped down from the trees right in front of Sarah.
Sarah could now see every part of it. Its body was long and distorted, its skin was a dark empty black, with patches of gray fur spherically around the body. Its hands were long and bony with claws jetting out of the fingers. Its mouth had sharp jagged teeth, and had the horns of a goat growing out of its head. Its eyes were the familiar yellow quarter moon shape that Sarah began to fear.
The creature lunged forward towards Sarah, causing her to start running. Sarah tried her best to out run the thing, but it was too fast. Sarah tripped over a root of a tree, Sarah was back on the ground. Sarah felt like her heart was about to burst out of her chest. When she looked up there was nothing there, like everything was gone.
Sarah was confused, after all just a few seconds ago she was being chased through a forest. When it then hit her, the creature was making it so it was hard to see where it was. Right then, something knocked her down. She slowly gave up hope, after all she can’t fight something she can’t see. It then clawed her right in the face, then it let off again. Suddenly, Sarah saw a light. Sarah regaining hope started crawling as fast as she could do. She could feel the creature try and pull her back away from the light, but Sarah kept on moving.
Sarah finally made it to the light, it was like a two dimensional rectangle. It seemed like it was calling her closer. That’s when the creature grabbed Sarah and lifted her up again, making a sound that can only be described as nails on a chalkboard. Sarah was scared out of her mind, it felt like her heart exploded from all the fear she had.
Sarah shot right up from her sleep. She was breathing heavily in her bed, she raced over to the light switch to turn the light. Sarah walked past her reflection in her mirror then stopped, she let open a big scream. Hearing her scream, her parents burst into her room. They were greeted to their daughter balled up crying on the floor, her once beautiful blond hair, now shriveled and white as snow.
After that Sarah was never the same, the once cheery girl was now a husk of her former self. She was afraid to sleep, saying that “it will get me next time.” Sarah would die a long, painful death due to sleep deprivation. People in the town took notice, causing people to be afraid that the creature may do the same to them. Little did they know the creature wanted them to fear it.
