On January 6th, Somerset Berkley’s Model UN team attended their first conference of the 2023-2024 school year, WarriorMUN IX, at Seekonk High School. This year’s conference was the largest one organized by the school in their nine years of hosting WarriorMUN. Delegates addressed a variety of issues including: the threat of natural disasters, Dark Magic’s presence in the Wizarding World, British encroachments on the pirate way of life, and mandatory schooling for Amish children. Zachary Dauphin was elected People’s Choice Delegate for his outstanding portrayal of Ron Weasley in the Security Council conference addressing the threat of Dark Magic. All committees found success in their conferences and Somerset Berkley looks forward to a great year of Model UN.
