The OR Bulldogs buried the Somerset Raiders on a somewhat-cold Thursday night. Mariah Mahjoory managed to put the first two points on the board after a couple of nice serves, until quickly being stopped by Old Rochester’s aggressive play style. Although the Raiders gained a decent lead of 7-2, the Bulldogs went on a run and tied the game at 7. For the next few minutes, the game went back and forth as both teams were hungry to win the first match. This was until the Bulldogs started to play more as a team and finished off the first game with a final score of 25-16.

After suffering a tough loss in the first game, the Raiders were able to hold the lead for the majority of the second game. The crowd began to play an important role in the game as chants started to be shouted and the Raiders gained a second wind. This was until the game was tied 24-24 and the Bulldogs managed to score the next two points, and win the game 26-24. Although it was a valiant effort, Somerset could yet again not overcome Old Rochester.

The third game began and the Raiders needed to win to stay alive, however they were outplayed as Old Rochester’s team was simply too strong. Somerset’s performance was nothing short of great, but unfortunately, they lost the third match, and fell short of victory.
