The Notebook by: Nicholas Sparks: Book Review

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, is a story about Noah and Allie who fell in love in the summer when they were young. Allie only stayed for that summer though, because she had to get back to her family. Fourteen years later Allie is engaged and sees an article in the newspaper about Noah’s newly renovated house. She goes to see him and their love is reborn.

I enjoyed reading The Notebook because it was right to the point and it never dragged. It moved swiftly throughout the story and was such a page turner. At the end of the chapters the author left cliff-hangers and I had no idea what would happen next. The characters and their emotions were vibrant and descriptive. Nicholas Sparks took the extra effort to be as detailed as possible. The book was also short, which I enjoyed because everybody is busy. Finally, the theme was amazing- even in the hardest times never lose hope because miracles can happen.
