Student Council’s Field Trip to the State House

Student+Councils+Field+Trip+to+the+State+House

On Wednesday, April 10th, the student council went on a field trip to the state house in Boston. As a representative of the student council I wanted to talk about how the trip went for me. So we met with Kyle, our tour guide who started showing us around. We started off by meeting with Senator Michael J. Rodrigues and it was nice because we could ask him questions about anything and we got to look around in his office. We went to so many spots in the State House. We went to the governor’s room and got to see all the paintings. We also went inside the House of Representatives and the Senate Chambers. There were so many old and valuable things inside the State House and it was a cool experience getting to see all of them. I also loved going on the balcony and getting to see the view of Boston from up there. We also saw the only American teagle left. In case you don’t know what the teagle was, Benjamin Franklin wanted the American symbol to be a turkey while Thomas Jefferson wanted it to be a bald eagle and so they came up with a compromise to make it into a teagle, which had features from both the turkey and the eagle. That was cool to see! Lastly, we ended the day by having pizza inside the State House. This trip was fun and I encourage you to visit the State House the next time you go to Boston.
