The Iberian Voyage

You may have heard of the Iberian Voyage, but what is it exactly?

 

Who is going? What, When, and Where is the Iberian Voyage?

A group of students, along with staff, are taking a trip to visit Madrid, Seville, and Lisbon during february break. This trip, known as the Iberian Voyage, has been planned by ACIS and is a long awaited trip for students who signed up last year.

How many students/staff are going?

Around 24 students from SB and 6 staff are going on the Iberian Voyage. They are soon to be accompanied by ACIS Tour guides.

How much did this trip cost?

The cost, which included the hotels, attractions, and food have come to a total of around $4000. Participants were also able to choose and apply to protection plans in case of last minute changes, loss of luggage, accidents, and etc. There were three plans to choose from, which can total up to an additional $500 depending on the plan chosen.

What are participants going to do on this trip?

Participants will go sightseeing! Visiting the boulevards, grand plazas, art museums, street performers, and etc. Participants will also be able to learn many things from the flamenco dance to making azulejos (Portuguese ceramic tiles).

When do participants leave and come back?

Participants leave during the school day on February 15 (Thursday) and come back during the end of break on February 23 (Friday).

Are there any assignments involving this trip?

Students on this trip are responsible to choose a topic, write an experience paper, and present their topic to other students and staff after their trip.
