One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is putting up my decorations and making a complete mess of my house. Although my decor hasn’t changed too much, I’ve noticed that others like to keep their houses up to date on the newest decorating trends.

This year, timeless styles are in! Neutral and natural colors such as whites, creams, and pale greens are trendy- a huge shift from the classic bright reds, greens, silvers and golds. Wooden and vintage decor are also pretty popular right now, as well as DIY decor. 

I think that next year’s trends will have a lot more color though. Simplistic colors and decorations can get boring after a while.

But! Some people prefer to stick with their traditional decor instead of switching things up every year- like me. In my opinion, sticking with what you’ve always done gives the holiday season a nostalgic and homey feeling. What do you prefer?
