Mr. Somerset Berkley

Recently, the Student Council has proposed the idea to create a Mr. Somerset Berkley pageant where senior boys may enter and compete. They will be judged by teachers on several categories, such as talent and trivia; prizes to the winner will be a crown, sash, and possibly a small gift card to a local business. A runner-up will also be chosen and may receive a small prize as well.

This pageant may not only increase school spirit, but it could also act as a fundraiser for the school. If not a fundraiser, money raised from ticket sales would be donated to charities. It would take place in the school’s Performing Arts Center at night towards the end of the year, and tickets would be sold at a lower rate for students wanting to attend.

While a Mr. Somerset Berkley pageant could be a great school event, there is still a lot of work to do. Teachers will have to be asked to donate their own time to stay and judge the pageant, guidelines will have to be set, and of course, people will have to enter. These are only a few of the things that must be done if there is to be a pageant this year.
