Cole Moberg: The Facts

I interviewed Cole Moberg on December 14 and asked him a few questions. Cole is a senior, a track star, and a scholar. When asked about his future in both academics and track he was more than willing to answer.

Question: What are you planning on doing after high school?

Answer: I plan on going to a four year college for mechanical/aerospace engineering.

 

Question: What track events do you participate in?

Answer: – Shot put (winter)– Discus + Shot (spring)

Quote: “We started on November 30 I’ll end my track season in May.”

 

Question: What’s your goal for shot put this year?

Answer: My goal is to break 50 feet, make states, beat out top EAC (Eastern Athletic Conference) thrower. Also, make an attempt at the school record.

Quote: “It’s far out, like 57ft.”

 

Question: What’s your training like?

Answer: Six practices a week, three lift days, two throwing technique days, and one agility/explosiveness day.

Quote: “You have to take a lot of protein a day.”

 

Question: I heard you’re a scholar and a well known athlete. How do you balance between school and sports?

Answer: Time management, pick what’s important and prioritize that. Make sure to give yourself time some free time so you aren’t overwhelmed.

 

Question: What song do you listen to, to get pumped up for a track meet?

Answer: “Welcome To The Jungle” by Guns n’ Roses.

 

Question: Any last words?

Answer: “Try it. The worst thing that can happen is you don’t like it.”
