Summary of Friday’s basketball game.

The first Varsity and Junior Varsity basketball games of the year were against Case High at home. From the very beginning of both games, you could tell Somerset was much more prepared than their opponents. The Junior Varsity game went well, with terrific shots from outside the three-point line and aggressive layups at the basket. The team played a great defensive and offensive game that ended with a score of 39-13.  As for the Varsity game, the girls gave Case absolutely everything they had, because Somerset wanted to win. Varsity took aggressive drives to the basket, blocked shots, and sunk so many baskets; it was almost unbelievable. There were only 14 turnovers. If you have less than 15 turnovers, you have done an exceptional job in your game. In taking so many shots, the girls scored 37% of them! This percentage is higher than the average mark of where a good team stands, proving Somerset is a magnificent team! Out of the 14 players put on the court 12 of them scored at least one basket! The score ended in 64-18! Fantastic game girls, and hats off to you!
