Seeking help out of this hole,

I’ve been reading books of old,

The legends and the myths.

Heroes overcoming challenges;

How did they do it?

Here I am,

Sitting,

Worrying,

Crying.

Slipping away little by little,

Breath by breath.

“Rise up,

They tell me.

As if I could.

As if I could escape this.

But I can’t.

Into the darkness I go,

Without a care.

“Rise up.”

What a joke.

As if I can.

I try,

But fail.

As I sink deeper,

And deeper,

And deeper,

I know there’s no hope.
