Mylee Setzer, Contributer

There’s a girl who sits on a lonely rock by the sea.

She cries, and storms swell around her.

She screams, and the wind howls with her.

She shivers, and the earth rumbles beneath her.

After a while, she seems inhuman –

glitching and warping and distorting to an animal,

strange growls issuing from her lips.

Would you be brave enough to walk toward her?

Would you be brave enough to touch her shoulder

and tell her it’ll be okay?

What would you find when you reached her?

Just a girl sitting on a rock, alone.

But you’re here.

She smiles, and the world seems a little brighter.
