Q: If you weren’t a teacher what would you be?

A: I would be a cake baker, a party planner, or a travel photographer.

Q: What did you want to be when you were a kid?

A: A fashion designer, a marine biologist, or a librarian. I loved turning my own books into “library books” and gluing in envelopes and making index cards with due dates on them. I even had a stamp pad and date stamp so I’d know when I had to turn them books back into myself.

Q: Who is your celebrity crush?

A: Jake Gyllenhall. I sat across the room from him in a restaurant in NYC once but never got up the nerve to go say hello.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant?

A: These days it is my house! My husband is a great cook- he makes anything from Japanese pork tonkatsu to Mexican carnitas. His specialty is steak and caesar salad!

Q: What is your favorite topic to teach?

A: Digital Photography! I especially love the beginning of the year when students are using the DSLR cameras for the first time and looking at their everyday environment in a new way.

Q: If you could have a superpower what would it be?

A: To always have something delicious to eat in the refrigerator.

Q: Who was your favorite teacher?

A: Mrs. Anzaldua. I went to elementary school in South Texas. She was nice to me even though I couldn’t say her name.
