The art department as a whole is elated at the reactions from the eighth graders, and are excited to see where they land. “I have already met new students who I am really looking forward to having in my classes in the next few years. One of the students even said that she wanted to live here,” Mrs. Troutman, Digital Photo Studio teacher, said. “The enthusiasm for the arts from the incoming new students was inspiring, even to me, as a long-term art teacher.”
In addition to the pinhole photos that have been up, there is work from every class at either base level, advanced, or even AP studio. Side-by-side, the artwork stands with the materials used to make it. “As art teachers we were thrilled at the amount of eighth graders and their parents who were able to come to the open house,” Mrs. Troutman states.
